RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join its office in Chennai within the Operations and Maintenance Engineering Division.

Mission

The Junior Maintenance Engineer assists in various aspects of asset maintenance within engineering consulting projects under the supervision of senior engineers. This role involves supporting the management of project technical documentation, assisting in the development of asset registers, contributing to the implementation of CMMS templates, and participating in maintenance planning activities. The junior engineer utilises mechanical handling software such as Autocad, Navisworks, SmartPlant, and MS Office to support project tasks. The incumbent works closely with senior engineers and other team members to execute assigned tasks efficiently and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.

Key Accountabilities

Project Technical Documentation Support
- Assist in the organization and management of project technical documentation.
- Review and verify technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure adherence to project requirements and standards.
 Asset Register Development Assistance
- Support senior engineers in developing and maintaining asset registers for client projects.
- Assist in capturing and recording asset information accurately in asset registers.
- Update asset registers under the guidance of senior engineers to reflect changes and additions.
CMMS Templates Implementation Support
- Participate in the implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) templates.
- Assist in customizing CMMS templates based on project needs and client requirements.
- Support the effective utilization of CMMS templates for maintenance management activities.
Maintenance Plan and Workload Planning Assistance
- Contribute to the development of maintenance plans under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in workload planning activities to optimize maintenance activities and resources.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure alignment of maintenance plans with project objectives.
Utilization of Mechanical Handling Software and MS Office
- Gain proficiency in mechanical handling software (Autocad, Navisworks, SmartPlant) through training and hands-on experience.
- Utilize MS Office applications to support documentation, data analysis, and reporting tasks.
- Seek guidance from senior engineers to effectively use software tools for project-related activities.
Task Support and Learning
- Provide support to senior engineers in executing assigned tasks related to asset maintenance projects.
- Learn and assist in various engineering activities including design, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and growth under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering

Qualifications

Strong willingness to learn and grow in the field of asset maintenance engineering.
Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
Eagerness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
