RINA is hiring in CAPE TOWN an Electrical Inspector
GENERAL PROVISIONS
The Electrical Inspector shall have:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Work Experience: minimun of 5 years of experience in equivalent role in Energy sector
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS and CERTIFICATIONS
- Good knowledge (spoken and written) of foreign languages (English mandatory, preferable French,
Spanish) including technical dictionary will be a plus.
- Good knowledge in the use of PC including software and applications (e.g. Windows, Office)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the International Quality Standards and applicable design and construction norms and
standards.
- Knowledge and experience of the major standards applied to Oil &Gas projects (e.g. EEMUA, API, ISO
EN, ASME, AWS, ATEX, Customer Standards, etc.).
- (Preferable) Certificates related to safety (e.g. BOSIET) for offshore projects.
- Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to
electrical and instrumentation work.
- Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations.
- Ability to perform well under pressure
WORK EXPERIENCE – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The QC Electrical Inspector is responsible for:
- Witnessing the electrical tests controls and inspections carried out.
- Executing the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
- Issuing the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writing and sending to QC
Supervisor/Coordinator Non-Conformances Reports.
- Checking cable laying and cable identification.
- Performing all relevant loop checks.
- Updating as built drawings.
- Performing punch-listing operations.
- Checking power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system.
- Performing visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection
