Europe General Ledger Accountant

RINA is currently recruiting for a Europe General Ledger Accountant to join its office in Bucharest within the Global Administration & Financial Statement Division.
Mission
The mission of the Senior Accountant is to independently manage and lead critical aspects of both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, while taking a lead role in general ledger activities. With a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement, the Experienced Accountant contributes to the overall financial integrity of the organization. This role also involves providing insights through financial analysis, supporting budgeting processes, and collaborating with various teams to enhance financial operations.
Key Accountabilities
· GL transactions booking in accounting software for multiple companies
· Working together with the AP and AR team, ensure that allocation, posting and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivables reports are done periodically
· Assisting the AP Accountant in tracking approvals of the Purchase Requisition created and receipts of Purchase Orders
· Managing accruals, fixed asset schedule and IFRS 16 schedule(s)
· Ensuring that intercompany invoices are issued, booked and reconciled (both sales and purchase)
· Producing month-end and year-end reporting including the closure process per the Group Calendar
· Assisting the Tax Accountant in preparation of VAT returns and other monthly/quarterly taxes returns including calculations
· Participating in financial standards setting and in forecasting process;
· Providing input into department’s goal setting process;
· Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
· Reviewing and recommending improvements to accounting systems and procedures;
Education
Qualifications
· Proven experience as senior accountant;
· Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
· Experience in ERP systems preferred but not essential (Microsoft D365 F&O would be advantage)
· Good knowledge of Fiscal Romanian Legislation;
· Proficient in Microsoft Office;
· Strong English language knowledge;
· Accuracy and attention to details;
· Working with tight schedules and flexible to meet business requirements;
· Good communication skills and team spirit;
· Positive approach and strong work ethic.
