RINA is currently recruiting for a Head of Wind Engineering Discipline to join its office in Brighton within the Power Engineering and Renewables Division.
What You'll Do
As the Discipline Leader, you’ll be the driving force behind technical excellence, innovation, and team development in the Wind sector. Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership
• Define and communicate the discipline’s technical vision aligned with strategic goals.
• Mentor and guide engineers, ensuring best practices and cutting-edge methodologies.
• Assess and mitigate technical risks across projects.
Project & Proposal Support
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers and Business Units to shape technical offerings.
• Make Go/No-Go decisions on technical feasibility for proposals.
• Assign the right talent to projects from the bidding stage onwards.
Skill Development
• Build and evolve the discipline’s skills portfolio to match RINA’s strategic direction.
• Identify skill gaps and lead corrective actions.
• Promote continuous learning through training, mentoring, and certifications.
Communication & Influence
• Represent the discipline internally and externally, showcasing its capabilities and strategic value.
Innovation & Agile Culture
• Partner with R&D&I teams to integrate innovation into our offerings.
• Foster an agile, forward-thinking culture across disciplines and practices.
Team Performance & Staffing
• Oversee staffing decisions and monitor performance metrics.
• Provide feedback and support to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
What You'll Bring
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (preferably with a focus on wind technologies).
- 8+ years of technical experience, including 5+ years leading project teams.
- Proven track record in multi-disciplinary project leadership.
- Deep expertise in wind-related engineering disciplines.
- Strong background in team development, mentoring, and performance management.
