RINA is currently recruiting for a Head of Renewables & Storage (UK & Northern Europe) to join its office in Brighton within the Power Division.

We are currently looking for a Head of Northern Europe – Renewables to join our team in Brighton (UK) to contribute to our dynamic growth. This role will play a key part in supporting our growth in this exciting sector, collaborating with our renewables teams worldwide and involving a range of projects including solar PV, wind, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, grid and environmental relating advisory services.

Role

The Head of Northern Europe – Renewables, will provide oversight of our existing portfolio of renewables Engineering assignments in Northern Europe (with particular focus in UK) and provide line management for a team of more than thirty engineers and consultants. This role will also provide mentoring and support to team members and contribute to project delivery, occasionally as project director or technical specialist or both.  

The role will be focused on growing our existing team and capabilities in the sector, while consolidating and improving processes and delivering high levels of growth. 

 

Responsibilities

This role requires a blend of skills and experience spanning team leadership, delivery of technical advisory services, business development activities and continuous business improvement.  Responsibilities therefore include: 

  • Contributing to business management as a member of the UK Management Team whilst playing an active role in the development of the renewable energy team
  • Participating in recruitment activity 
  • Identify business growth and develop new client relationships 
  • Taking responsibility for the cost centre P&L 
  • Developing executable Regional Business plan with targets 
  • Preparing and submitting costed and accurate proposals
  • Managing and contributing to the delivery of technical advisory services, to include co-ordination of resources, time and budget management and preparing both Lenders and Owners reports
  • Relationship Management of existing clients to include banks, equity funds and developers, primarily in the UK, but also Northern Europe and globally

Qualification & Experience

  • A degree level qualification or PhD in a STEM or Renewable Energy discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years experience within at least one technology (Solar PV, Wind or Energy Storage), ideally gained within a Consultancy/Technical Advisory environment 
  • Experience of managing and developing a team  
  • Proven experience within managing P&L 
  • Fluency in English is essential and ability to speak other languages (in particular Spanish, Italian or French) would be advantageous #LI-CB2
