RINA is currently recruiting for a Boston Office Director to join its office in Boston, MA within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Mission

RINA, formerly known as Patrick Engineering, has a solid reputation for managing large complex transportation infrastructure projects. To continue the growth of our Northeast Infrastructure + Mobility team, we’re seeking a Director, Boston Office, to play a key role in meeting our clients’ objectives and challenges.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify rail and transportation projects in Massachusetts and other portions of the Northeast as agreed and pursue program and construction management opportunities for those projects in coordination with Business Development.  Identify teaming relationships to support the pursuit of these opportunities in coordination with Business Development.
  • Support existing program management efforts on behalf of clients as subject matter expert.  As an SME, work with the program management team to:
    • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Manage project organization activities for projects primarily based in Boston, including but not limited to work breakdown structure, responsibility matrix, and document control.
      • Project schedule management
      • Develop and manage detailed project schedule; address scheduling problems as they arise.
      • Create and execute end-to-end project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
    • Program resource management and leadership
      • Establish and manage (directly and indirectly) teams to meet the resource needs required of projects primarily based in Boston and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
      • Manage the operations and finances of Boston projects and programs
      • Coach and mentor project support staff on project management skills and activities
      • Coordinate project activities between team members, while maximizing their productivity to achieve project goals.
    • Program communication
      • Serve as primary interface with our Boston-based clients and Patrick teams.
      • Proactively manage communication with the client and communicate project details across all levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.
      • Ensure involvement of the appropriate teams during each project phase
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Urban Planning or Civil, Structural, or Transportation Engineering. 
  • Experience working within a transportation agency a plus
  • 15+ years of experience managing a team of people on projects of moderate to large size/complexity with a solid track record of successfully leading projects from initiation to completion on time, on budget, and within scope, including resource management across disciplines.
  •  National recognition as an expert in the field of transportation as evidenced by involvement in leading industry organizations
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
