RINA is currently recruiting for a China & Far East Railway Certification Principal Assessor to join its office in China within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.​

Mission

The role focuses on performing assessment and validation activities (execution of activities and reports) within the railway environment. The missio is ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency within the railway environment through rigorous assessment and validation activities. The principal assessor plays a crucial role in evaluating systems, processes, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and promote excellence in railway operations

Key Accountabilities

Assessment Activities:
Perform assessment activities related to projects in the Railway domain, ensuring thorough evaluation and compliance with industry standards.
Client Interaction:
Act as the main point of contact for clients, leading meetings with clients and the assessment team to understand project requirements and expectations.
Delivery Assurance:
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of assessment and verification plans, actively supporting projects to achieve satisfactory results.
Knowledge Sharing:
Mentor and share knowledge with Senior Assessors, contributing to their professional development and growth.
Compliance and Standards:
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
Client Feedback Analysis:
Make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in the continuous improvement of service delivery.
Project Management:
Undertake project management activities, where applicable, including monitoring the progress of projects and ensuring their successful completion.
Design Verification:
Design verification according to reference standards, conducting structural checks, and ensuring completeness checks on the quality system documentation.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General

Qualifications

- +10 years experience in the railway industry, with a deep understanding of operational processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record in performing assessment and validation activities, including the execution of comprehensive reports.
- In-depth knowledge of railway systems, infrastructure, and equipment, with a focus on safety-critical elements.
- Familiarity with industry best practices, standards, and guidelines related to railway operations and maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Certification or accreditation in relevant areas such as railway safety management, risk assessment, or quality assurance is preferred.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all assessment activities.
