RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Yachting Marine Surveyor to join its office in Ancona, Italy within the Marine South West Europe Region Division.

Mission

As a surveyor in a classification society at RINA Services S.p.A., you will have a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets. You will be responsible for verifying that vessels meet international and classification society standards to maintain the highest levels of safety and efficiency in the maritime industry. Key Accountabilities

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure strict adherence to classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements during surveys and inspections. Stay updated on new regulations and implement them effectively.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Provide expert technical advice to clients, shipowners, and manufacturers on classification, design, construction, and maintenance matters. Keep abreast of industry technologies for cutting-edge surveys.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Act as a troubleshooter to address technical challenges during surveys and client interactions.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Implement quality measures in survey processes to maintain accuracy and reliability in inspection reports.
  • Client Education:
    Educate clients on classification society processes, rules, and the importance of compliance for safety and operational efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Prepare inspection reports using standardized templates for clear and timely reporting. Utilize digital tools for efficient documentation management.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    Collaborate with colleagues internally and externally to share knowledge and best practices. Contribute to a collaborative work environment through active participation.
  • Continuous Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with industry standards, technologies, and certifications. Enhance expertise through relevant qualifications.

Education

Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Junior Surveyor or 5 years in engineering/survey fields within the marine industry.
  • Proficiency in English language for classification, statutory certification, and future work.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, and statutory regulations.
  • Understanding of engineering plans and basic shipbuilding practices.
  • Experience in new building surveys, ship in service surveys, marine management systems audits, and testing activities.
  • Knowledge of ships' engineering systems, machinery, and relevant software packages.
  • Competency in making effective decisions, managing emotions, client intimacy, earning trust, promoting sustainable development, thinking forward, pioneering change, and building networks.
