RINA is currently recruiting for a UAE RBI Engineer to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Mission

The RBI Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing inspection strategies within the Oil & Gas facilities or power plant by implementing risk-based inspection methodologies. Their mission is to assess the integrity of equipment and facilities, prioritize inspection activities based on risk assessment, and develop cost-effective inspection plans to ensure asset reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities

'Assistance in Risk Assessment:
- Assist senior engineers in performing risk assessments of equipment and infrastructure using established RBI methodologies.
- Participate in identifying potential failure modes, consequences, and likelihood of failure for various assets.
- Support data collection and analysis efforts to facilitate risk ranking and prioritization.
Data Management and Documentation:
- Assist in maintaining and updating RBI databases, inspection records, and documentation.
- Help ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of RBI data for effective decision-making.
- Support the organization and filing of inspection reports, risk assessments, and inspection plans.
Inspection Planning Support:
- Aid in the development of risk-based inspection plans under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in determining appropriate inspection techniques, frequencies, and intervals based on risk assessment outcomes.
- Contribute to optimizing inspection schedules to minimize downtime and maximize asset integrity.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously learn and develop knowledge of RBI methodologies, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and competencies.
- Seek guidance and mentorship from senior engineers to accelerate learning and career growth.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on work progress and project status.
- Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude towards learning, teamwork, and professional development.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a Oil & Gas facilities, power plant, or related industry.
Basic understanding of engineering principles, risk assessment concepts, and inspection methodologies.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.

Knowledge of corrosion and degradation mechanisms affecting upstream and refining industry (API 571 certification will be considered as plus).

Knowledge of API-580/581 principles (API 580 certifications will be considered as plus)
