Senior RAMS Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior RAMS Engineer to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.
Mission
The Railway System Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all railway systems and subsystems meet the required safety, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance standards throughout the lifecycle of the project. This role involves leading assurance activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement system assurance strategies, plans, and procedures across railway projects.
- Lead safety, RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability), and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with international and national standards (e.g., EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, CENELEC, ISO 9001).
- Manage hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure assurance requirements are integrated and met.
- Prepare and review assurance documentation including Safety Cases, RAM Analyses, and Verification & Validation reports.
- Liaise with Independent Safety Assessors (ISA), Notified Bodies (NoBo), and other regulatory authorities.
- Support audits, inspections, and reviews related to system assurance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior assurance engineers.
Education
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Systems, or Railway Engineering).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in railway system assurance or safety engineering.
• Strong knowledge of railway systems (signaling, rolling stock, infrastructure, etc.).
• Experience with safety and RAM standards and methodologies.
• Familiarity with assurance tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, FTA, Hazard Logs).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; other languages (e.g., Italian, French) are a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of railway industry European,safety legislation, standards (e.g. EN50126, EN50128/9 and Common Safety Methods)
Other Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV).
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Knowledge of digital assurance tools and platforms.
