RINA is currently recruiting for a GCC I&M Senior Transport Consultant to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Mission

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transport Engineer with a strong background in planning and executing large-scale infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on Metro and Light Rail Transit (LRT) systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading feasibility studies and delivering successful outcomes for major transport projects in the Middle East, particularly in GCC countries, with preference given to experience in the UAE.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and oversee large-scale feasibility studies for Metro and LRT projects across the Middle East, ensuring projects align with strategic transport goals and best practices.
  • Provide strategic direction and technical expertise throughout the planning and analysis phases of transport infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess technical, environmental, financial, and social feasibility aspects of projects.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including government authorities, project partners, and clients, to effectively manage expectations and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership, stakeholders, and clients.

Education

Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Transport Engineering

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the planning and management of large-scale transport infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on Metro and LRT systems.
  • Extensive experience in the GCC region, preferably in the UAE, with a thorough understanding of local regulations, market conditions, and transport needs.
  • Strong expertise in transport modeling, feasibility assessment, and financial analysis of transport projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in directing multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are desirable.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of transport planning principles, feasibility studies, and best practices in Metro and LRT development.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in utilizing transport modeling tools and data analysis to inform decision-making.
