RINA is currently recruiting for a Power System Protection & Connections Senior Consultant to join its office in Manchester within the Green Energy Solutions Division

Overview

At RINA, the Senior Consultant will provide technical input into multiple projects and will also lead project teams, providing training and support to RINA colleagues where appropriate, and liaise with team leaders to ensure effective resource allocation and project delivery.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide technical input and leadership on a variety of projects for distribution and transmission networks, and renewable energy developers/OEMs 

- Carry out and lead technical studies like protection coordination, arc flash, dynamic/transient, harmonics, short-circuit and techno-economic studies particularly for generator (including Wind Farms (HVAC/HVDC) and PV/BESS)  in compliance with industrial codes and standards 

- Prepare, review and sign off detailed technical reports 

- Contribute towards the submission of high quality bids and proposals to existing and potential clients 

- Represent RINA to clients at bid presentations and project presentations 

- Network at all levels within RINA, client organisations and other external bodies as applicable 

- Manage projects and project teams for small and medium-sized projects, including resource management, progress tracking, monitoring of costs and variations, invoicing support, and client liaison. 

Experience Required

- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or other relevant technical discipline 

- Hold Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards it. 

- Expertise in power system analysis and grid connection studies in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems with 2-5 years of experience 

- Excellent communication and customer management skills, business management/development activities 

- Highly proficient with modern simulation software and electrical circuit modelling tools e.g. PSCAD, PSS/E, DigSILENT Powerfactory, ETAP, Python, ERACS etc. #LI-CB2
